Activity Cards

Learn how animals use their nose to sniff out food, communicate with others or defend themselves. Use your own sniffer to create a nice smelling craft. After craft time, we will explore the trails and get a little closer to the smelly side of nature.

This program is a perfect afternoon adventure for children ages 6 – 10 years of age. We will spend time exploring our program’s topic, maybe create a craft or play a game, before we head out on the trails to practice what we learned.  Our hike will be a gentle one mile trek along uneven terrain. Off road strollers are welcome to join the fun!

Parents or guardians must register themselves and their child(ren).

As we gear up for this month’s Hunter’s Moon, the local wildlife is gearing up for the approaching autumn harvest. Every autumn, animals and humans alike harvest and store their food for the long winter to come. People celebrate their bounty with an epic feast to share with friends and family. There are many things to be thankful for after a long hot summer and slow growing fall. Let’s enjoy our harvest season by tasting local produce! We will take a short stroll along the trail after our feast to take in all the bounty of nature. This program may contain nuts as part of the food tasting.

What do the nighttime animals do when we are asleep? Come enjoy the tale of a very different little bat in the story of Stellaluna, and then create your own nocturnal creature to take home.
