Join Irvine Ranch Conservancy Docent, Mike Clayton, and the IRC Birders for a fantastic refresher to all things birding during this birding workshop in Baker Canyon. It is aimed at giving you training and experience with birding techniques and birding programs. We will explore the basics of birds, birding, binoculars, field guides and seasonal bird migration. Bring your binoculars, if you have them, otherwise IRC will provide some for you. You will have a chance to practice your birding skills through the Baker meadow with basic spotting and identification techniques. In addition, you will have a chance to practice being the leader of the birding group and get some simulated field experience leading birding programs. This workshop is aiming to have a good core of IRC Birders willing to lead AND assist on upcoming birding programs.
