Hiking combined with outdoor yoga adds a unique dimension to your fitness experience and yoga practice. YIKING allows the spirit to link with the natural environment. There will be instructor led yoga above the scenic avocado orchard with the West Loma Ridge rising alongside. Views of the Pacific coastline peep through the trees at the landing (elevation gain 1640′) where we spread our mats and enjoy yoga together. The hiking warmup  makes the muscles more pliable, enhancing  your yoga stretches. Distance can vary between 5 – 7 miles. YIKING invokes a sense of harmony and flow as you breathe deeply, refreshing the mind, body and spirit.

All participants must bring a yoga mat and carry it along on the hike to the hillside yoga site. Please wear clothes comfortable for stretching. Hiking poles and sun protection are encouraged.

Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-5 activity on the land.

Come out and assist OC Park Rangers assigned to the Irvine Ranch Open Space (IROS) during this monthly special access event. The event takes place in Black Star Canyon next to Santiago Creek with spectacular views of the “Red Rocks” and surrounding area. Job duties include event set up, traffic control, visitor service/check in, post assignments, and trail patrol. Must be a current Ranger Reserve with OC Parks to sign up. No past area experience is needed, but welcomed.
