Our commitment
Let’s Go Outside is committed to providing a website and programs that are accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We actively work to improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards.

Standards we follow
Our goal is to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA across letsgooutsideorg.kinsta.cloud and our online forms and content. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more usable for all visitors.

How we work toward accessibility
We include accessibility in our design, content, and development process by:

  • Using semantic HTML, proper headings, labels, and landmarks.

  • Ensuring all interactive elements are usable by keyboard only (with visible focus states).

  • Providing text alternatives (alt text) for meaningful images and icons.

  • Maintaining color contrast that meets WCAG thresholds.

  • Avoiding content that flashes or auto-updates without user control.

  • Providing captions/transcripts for videos we publish and avoiding time limits on forms where possible (or offering a way to extend time).

  • Supporting zoom and responsive layouts without loss of content or functionality.

  • Testing with assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers) and keyboard-only navigation.

  • Reviewing changes with automated and manual accessibility checks before release.

Compatibility
letsgooutsideorg.kinsta.cloud is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) and on modern operating systems and mobile devices. Older browsers or assistive tech may have limited support.

Known limitations & third-party content
While we strive for full accessibility, some content may present challenges:

  • Legacy PDFs or maps may not yet be fully tagged for screen readers. Upon request, we can provide an accessible alternative (HTML page, tagged PDF, large-print, or staff assistance).

  • Embedded third-party tools (e.g., ticketing, maps, or video players) may not fully meet our standards. We work with vendors to improve accessibility and will assist users who encounter barriers.

If you encounter an issue with any of the above, please contact us so we can help and address it.

Program and event accommodations
We welcome participants of all abilities at our programs and events. To request a reasonable accommodation (e.g., alternate formats, assistive listening, or other support), please contact us at least 72 hours before your visit or event date so we can make arrangements.

Feedback & contact
Your feedback helps us improve. If you experience an accessibility barrier on letsgooutsideorg.kinsta.cloud or at one of our programs, please let us know:

Please include the page URL or program name, a brief description of the problem, and your preferred contact information. We aim to respond within 5 business days and will let you know the steps we’re taking to resolve the issue.

Ongoing improvements
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We conduct periodic audits, fix issues as they are identified, and include accessibility in our content editor training and vendor procurement.
